12345 Ribs

Background

Jeremy's parents gave me this recipe. It's great on steamed rice on a cold winter day.

Recipe

1 lb. pork spareribs
6 green onions, cut into 1 inch pieces
1 tbsp rice wine or dry sherry
2 tbsp rice vinegar or white vinegar
3 tbsp sugar
1/4 cup soy sauce (I use more like a 1/2 cup)
5 tbsp water (I add enough to cover the ribs)

Place green onions at bottom of medium sauce pan. Place ribs on top. Add rest of ingredients. Cover and bring to a boil over high heat. Reduce heat to low. Cook about 2 hours until almost all liquid is absorbed. Serve hot.
