I am by no means a world traveler. I have only visited a handful of countries (one of which was Canada). I maintain a list of "places to go" on our refrigerator door. More than half of my trips were for research in South America. Hey - as a graduate student, you take what you can get! For domestic travels (other than Hawaii), please refer to the Backcountry pages.

Our international forays resemble our trips around the US - camping and backpacking. Jeremy and I are budget travelers: we shop for cheap or subsidized (work-related) airfare, sleep in the dirt or snow, and cook half of our meals. Grocery shopping in foreign countries is fascinating for a foodie like myself.
