I knit this blanket for my niece when she was born. It is a nine block composite that I stitched together by hand - my first knit blanket. |
I knit 18 rows (casting off on 19th) for all segments. With the first (red) square, I knit 10 stitches. Then I pick up 10 stitches with the yellow and knit 18 rows. Then I pick up 20 stitches across the red and yellow with the yellow and knit 18 rows. I continue the pattern until I have the completed square. The arrows show the direction I was knitting in.
Stitching the knit squares together with white yarn. The blanket is about 4 feet by 4 feet.
