Erin and Caroline - June 2007

Our friends hosted a wonderful and special celebration in Seattle. We attended as guests and as photographer. In the morning, we took a trip to Tacoma to see some of Chihuly's work on display in and around the Museum of Glass, then had sushi in Green Lake, and finally enjoyed the festivities of Erin and Caroline's union. I'm just going to make one opinionated comment here and then I'll be done (for now): anyone who would deny two loving adults the right to marry is an ignorant jerk.
In Tacoma, from the stairs leading up to the Bridge of Glass.
My absolute favorite part of the whole morning was Chihuly's Seaform Pavilion. The ceiling is filled with these gorgeous and colorful glass creations. It's mesmerizing. Jeremy and I could have sat there for hours.
Jeremy pauses by the Crystal Towers before we enter the Museum of Glass (which doesn't allow photography in the gallery).
Caroline's adorable twin nephews.
The food was elegant and delicious at the Olympic Sculpture Park. The caterer tries to use local and organic products. They served up an incredible array of fresh and well-made delights.
Two classy, remarkable, and wonderful ladies, Erin and Caroline.
Group shot! Everyone except yours truly.
A tower of cupcakes to tempt even the anti-confections crowd.
Thanking their friend for her blessing.
A special box in which we all left notes with our sincerest wishes for happiness.
Evening falls late over the Pacific Northwest in summer. Venus graces the Olympic mountains in the distance.
