Williamsburg - May 2007

After my defense at Cornell, we flew to Virginia to visit with my parents and to see their new house. Virginia was so incredibly green and the cherries had passed bloom long ago. Luckily, it wasn't terribly hot this time.
The back deck of my parents' house. It has a lovely view and more privacy than their old house.
Mom and Dad in Colonial Williamsburg.
The dinner I prepared for my parents one night: filet mignon, parsnip purée, asparagus, and port reduction sauce.
Dad fries up some of his special Lion's Head recipe (giant pork meatballs) on the deck.
Mom prepares Grandma's secret smoked chicken recipe. Delish!
Even though my parents were celebrating during our entire visit, they treated us to a fabulous dinner at the Fat Canary. Here they are toasting my degree.
Our good friends, Karen and Matt live in the same town as my parents. They were getting ready to move to the northeast and we got to see their lovely house and all of the awesome remodeling they did. They are really amazing people.
This is Hoot, their pup. He is so cute and such a good dog. He likes having his tummy rubbed.
